Welcome to Brown County High School's web site!
This is a collaboration of many students and staff to give the most up to date
information possible. I hope you take the time to learn about our students and
staff.
I am Matthew J. Stark, Principal of Brown County High School. I graduated in
1991 from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and in 1992 I
graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. I started teaching Social
Studies at Brown County High School in the fall of 1992.
Since I grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana this was my first experience in a smaller
community. I fell in love with Brown County. The people, the culture, the
beauty, and the closeness have made this a very special place for me. In 1995, I
met and married my wife Amy and we have two wonderful children Alex and Mara.
In March 2002 I was given the opportunity to become Assistant Principal.
Principal Randy Barrett left in December 2002 and I was named Acting Principal
until the fall of 2003 when I was hired as Principal. I believe working with
young adults is the most exciting part of being in education. Brown County High
School has a wealth of talented students who are of solid character. Our staff
is truly committed to helping students achieve their potential. It is an honor
and a pleasure to serve the students, the parents, the staff, and the community.
We are very proud of our students. I hope as Principal to promote an atmosphere
where all students can achieve success and look to fulfill their dreams.
